So, I have just been obsessed with this receipt printer. It has been a huge source of joy for me since it arrived on Thursday. We have been printing, a lot. And in many fun ways. And writing our own driver, and making fun interfaces to expose it to the web, and getting a raspberry pi to control the thing, and more.

I grabbed a Twilio number, set up ngrok on the pi, and told the internet to message me any text or photos they felt like shooting over, but to be kind. 3 hours / til someone ruins it

So from here a lot of people started posting and reposting it, I think it got to around 100 likes and ~25 reposts by the time I deleted the post when the authorization token had been dropped at around 12:30am eastern time.

Now, people kept sending messages until later.

I am going to grab all of them here momentarily, but for now lets go through what we got for the first duration before that happened.

The first post was my friend sending a photo of us together from Mondegreen last summer. If you are not one of my Phish friends reading this, Mondegreen was a festival where only phish played for 3 days and we treated it as our bachelor/bachelorette parties. It was quite a good time.

Someone had some reflections on what 'the untz' is, and frankly, as someone who has enjoyed more than a couple disco biscuits events, "get it" you know?

I am looking forward to taking one of the collections to my next hang with our friends' lil dude named Max who is turning 2 in a couple weeks. Also my Long Island nephew Nico is old enough to enjoy them now too, so that is pretty cool. We will have to get some Calvin over to him.

Next Week

Next week I am going to take this setup to Tompkins square park if I can get things wired up with the raspberry pi and make it so that I have a "Photo Booth" that will take 5 pics and then print them all on a receipt paper for the folks in the booth.

It will be fun, I will just be there to shoot the shit and have a little tip jar out. Maybe I will live stream some of it on stream.place? Who knows. Whatever is fun and not too stressful to get running.
